Tayyab, Ashab move into quarters of Aftab Javed Memorial

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ashab Irfan and Tayyab Aslam reached the quarterfinals of the $15000 Aftab Jawaid Memorial Squash Championship in the United States on Friday.
Tayyab Aslam overpowered sixth seed Tomo Endo from Japan 3-11, 13-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-9 in 73 minutes and second seed Ashab defeated Egypt’s Seif El-Shenaway 11-5, 11-5, 10-12, 11-4 in 47 minutes in the second round. Now, they will face each other in the quarters. However, wildcard Farhan Zaman and Huzaifa Ibrahim lost in the first round while Ahsan Ayaz was beaten in the second round.
