LAHORE: Pakistan’s ace snooker player, Muhammad Asif, a three-time world champion, is all set to represent the nation at the prestigious Commonwealth Snooker & Billiards Championships 2025, scheduled to take place in Mauritius from July 2 to 6.
His participation comes after winning the recent IBSF World Men Snooker Championship 2024 in Doha, Qatar, which secured his qualification for this top-tier international event. The championship, hosted by the World Confederation of Billiards Sports, will see Asif compete against some of the finest cueists from across the Commonwealth.
The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) has confirmed that all necessary visa documents for Muhammad Asif have been submitted to the Mauritius Embassy in Islamabad, and they are currently awaiting visa issuance.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Kapadia, Honorary Secretary of the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA), expressed strong confidence in Asif’s capabilities. “We believe in Muhammad Asif’s ability to achieve great things on the World Snooker arena,” Kapadia stated.
“We are confident that he will bring home a medal for our beloved country. We wish him the best of luck, and we are all incredibly proud of him, standing behind him in every way. May his journey to victory be filled with joy, success, and unwavering spirit. Go get that medal!”
Asif’s presence at the championships underscores Pakistan’s strong standing in the global snooker arena, and hopes are high for another medal-winning performance from the seasoned cueist.
