MNA demands reopening of roads in Kurram
PARACHINAR: Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Kurram and leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), Hamid Hussain, has condemned the ongoing closure of the Parachinar-Peshawar main highway, which has now extended to over nine months.
In a statement to the media, MNA Hamid Hussain expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region, where residents of Parachinar and other parts of Kurram remain effectively trapped due to blocked roads and deteriorating security conditions. He described the situation as “unbearable” and called on federal authorities to take urgent steps for reopening of the roads.
“The main highway and all other access routes, including those along the Afghan border, have been closed by armed groups for the past nine months,” said Hamid Hussain. “As a result, thousands of students have been unable to attend schools and universities across the country, leading to the loss of an academic year,” he added
