Three killed as vehicle falls into ravine
KALAYA: Three members of a family, including a girl and two women, were killed and four others injured when a van carrying tourists plunged into a ravine in the Sra Mela area of Lower Orakzai district.
According to Deputy Commissioner Orakzai Irfanuddin, the victims were part of a family from the Sherkot area in the Kohat district. The family, led by one Jafar Ali, was en route to Kalaya in Lower Orakzai for an Eid picnic when the tragic accident occurred.
Officials said the family had parked their van on a mountainous slope at Sra Mela. Several members had disembarked, while seven people, including women and children, remained inside the vehicle. The van reportedly started moving on its own and fell into a deep ravine.An 8-year-old girl named Faiza and two women died on the spot. Four others, including two women and two children, sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
