Optical lab launched at PIRS
Islamabad:In celebration of World Assistive Technology Day, Sightsavers has marked a significant milestone in advancing inclusive eye health in Pakistan by supporting the establishment of a fully equipped optical lab at the Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) in Islamabad.
This initiative is a testament to Sightsavers’ continued commitment to improving access to affordable, high-quality, and inclusive eye care services, particularly for people with visual impairments and disabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Munazza Gillani, Director Pakistan & Middle East, Sightsavers said, “We are proud to support PIRS in this important initiative. The establishment of the Optical Lab will not only strengthen human resource capacity in opticianry but also contribute to the availability of affordable, high-quality assistive technologies for people with visual impairments.”
