LAHORE:Hot weather with partly cloudy conditions and scattered rain was recorded in the City on Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials warned that windstorm/thunderstorm/hailstorm/heavy falls and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels etc on Wednesday (today). They said a shallow westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country while moist currents were also penetrating in northeastern parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas. However, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm was likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Rainfall was recorded in several cities, including Sahiwal, Okara, Toba Tek Singh, Noor Pur Thal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Murree, Sialkot, Balakot, Dir, Kakul, Malam Jabba, Bagrote, Astore, Bunji, Garhi Dupatta, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Sakrand. Tuesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Sibi where mercury reached 48°C, while in Lahore, it was 39°C.
