Kidnapped Customs officials recovered
WANA: Two Customs officers, who had been kidnapped from Angoor Adda border area of South Waziristan, were recovered after 108 days in captivity, local officials confirmed on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Nasir Khan said that Superintendent Nisar Abbasi and Inspector Khushhal were kidnapped by armed men on February 13 while returning from duty near Sholam. They were reportedly taken to an undisclosed location.
Following their recovery, the officers departed for their hometown of Haripur accompanied by President of the South Waziristan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saifur Rehman.Rehman told the media that the Chamber of Commerce, along with local traders, played a vital role in securing the release of the two officers. However, details surrounding the circumstances of their release were not made public.
