Two killed in Darra Adamkhel blast

KOHAT: Two persons were killed when explosive materials went off inside a house in Akhurwal village in Darra Adamkhel on Sunday, officials said.

The rescue and police officials said that the blast completely destroyed the house and an adjoining hujra (guest room).The officials said the incident occurred near the Zor Akhur tube well area in Akhurwal. The explosion was so intense that the bodies of the victims were dismembered.

The Rescue 1122 teams, police, medical personnel, security forces, and disaster response units promptly reached the scene following the explosion. After securing and clearing the area, Rescue 1122 transferred the deceased to Civil Hospital Shani Killay for post-mortem examination.

The deceased were identified as Zeeshan, a resident of Qasimkhel locality in Darra Adamkhel and Fareed, a resident of Sheraki.Police officials said that over 100 kilograms of explosive materials were found at the site. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
