UET’s upgraded infrastructure inaugurated

LAHORE:The Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Prof Dr Shahid Munir inaugurated three newly-upgraded facilities at the UET Main Campus here on Friday.

The inaugurated projects including, renovation & upgradation of washrooms, Block C-Hall at a cost of Rs18.069 million, renovation & upgradation of washrooms in Iqbal Hall, at a cost of Rs20.655 million and replacement of water supply, Sui gas system, and installation of tube well at a cost of Rs110.897 million are part of 'Rehabilitation/upgradation of dilapidated physical infrastructure' initiative funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Shahid Munir highlighted the importance of modern, safe, and hygienic infrastructure for enhancing the academic environment and overall student experience at UET. The university reaffirms its resolve to provide state-of-the-art facilities and a conducive learning environment for students and faculty alike, Dr Shahid Munir stated.

World Milk Day observed

World Milk Day with the theme 'Let’s celebrate the power of dairy' was held at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences here on Friday. Various activities, including a seminar, advocacy session, and other events featured the day to create awareness about nutritional value of milk for human health.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Younus presided over the seminar while Dean Faculty of Animal Production & Technology Prof Dr Saima, Chairperson Department of Dairy Technology Dr Saima Inayat and others were present. While addressing the seminar, Prof Dr M Younus said that milk is a priceless gift of nature and a complete food, even after birth a child is fed only on milk. He said that for the development of the dairy sector in Pakistan we need to pay special attention to improving the breeding of local breeds of cows and buffaloes which will not only increase milk and meat production in the country but will also stabilise the country's economy.
