ANF holds poster competition on hazards of narcotics
The Sindh Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday held a poster competition to highlight the students’ role in eradicating narcotics from society. Officials said the 20th ANF Poster Competition Exhibition was inaugurated at the Sadequain Gallery, Frere Hall, with Force Commander RD ANF Sindh Brigadier Umer Farooq as the chief guest.
The event showcased powerful artwork by students from various schools, creatively expressing the theme of a drug-free society. Brig Farooq, in his keynote address, commended the students' artistic talents and meaningful messages conveyed through their posters. “I am deeply impressed by the creative brilliance and social awareness these young minds have portrayed through their artwork,” he remarked.
“This competition not only highlights their artistic abilities but also spreads a vital message — drugs destroy individuals and eventually the fabric of society.” He emphasised the effective role of art in promoting social change and called for recognition of such initiatives across the globe.
“These thought-provoking pieces should be promoted on international platforms. The message of a drug-free and healthy society must reach the masses globally,” he added. Brig Farooq announced that all the participating students would receive certificates of appreciation from the ANF in acknowledgement of their contribution to spreading awareness about narcotics.
He also encouraged teachers and students to participate in the upcoming activities for International Day Against Drug Abuse. “Our youth are the future of Pakistan. I am heartened to see that they are aware, responsible, and ready to play their part in building a drug-free society,” he said.
