Karachi rescue measures
Karachi today stands overwhelmed by a host of challenges that are crippling the daily lives of its citizens and threatening the future of our metropolis. These include a sever water shortage, power outages and loadshedding, crumbling infrastructure, law and order concerns and transport woes. In order to address these issues, we need an immediate crackdown on water and power mafias, investment in infrastructure, enhanced law enforcement, more public-private partnerships and an empowered local government system.
Karachi is home to over 20 million people and contributes significantly to Pakistan’s economy. Ignoring its deterioration is no longer an option. I humbly urge the concerned authorities, stakeholders and policymakers to take decisive and urgent action before the situation becomes irreparable.
