PESHAWAR/CHITRAL: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Department has approved a set of proposed amendments to the Kalash Valley Development Authority (KVDA) regulations in an effort to address public concerns and enhance governance in the region.
The announcement was made during a meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Bakhtiar Khan. The meeting was attended by Kalash Valley Development Authority chairman Advocate Ahmad Ali, Director General Minhasuddin, former special assistant chief minister for Minority’s Affairs Wazirzada, board members and other key stakeholders.
During the meeting, participants engaged in a detailed discussion on public apprehensions and concerns raised by residents and stakeholders of the Kalash valley, particularly regarding the current action plan and its implementation. After thorough deliberation, the proposed amendments to the authority’s framework were unanimously approved. The approved draft has now been forwarded to the KP Law Department for final vetting. Once finalised, it will be submitted to the provincial cabinet for official approval.
