Another alleged terrorist killed

CHITRAL: Another alleged terrorist was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Broke village of Laspur valley in Upper Chitral, police officials said on Wednesday

They said that the deceased was an accomplice of a terrorist who was killed in a clash with security personnel in the same region a few days back. The sources said the suspect was allegedly attempting to loot a local shop by breaking its lock when a local resident confronted him. The armed suspect fled toward Broke village and went into hiding.

Following a tip-off from the villagers, a heavy contingent of Chitral Scouts launched a search operation in the area. Upon being located, the terrorist opened fire on the security personnel, injuring one soldier. The forces responded swiftly and in the ensuing gunfight, the terrorist was killed on the spot.

The injured soldier was taken to a nearby Basic Health Unit (BHU) for treatment, where his condition is reported to be out of danger. The body of the deceased militant was taken into custody by the security forces for further investigation.
