Petition about missing person disposed of

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Monday disposed of a petition about the recovery of a missing person after reports were submitted by both the federal and provincial governments.

Amir Muhammad Khan had gone missing from Katlang Tehsil in Mardan district. The case was heard by a bench comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar of the Peshawar High Court.The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that his client had gone missing from the Katlang area of Mardan, and despite extensive efforts by the family, he could not be found, which led them to approach the court.

Additional Advocate General (AAG) Bashir Naveed told the court that the provincial government had submitted its report, which stated that the missing person was wanted by police in five different cases.

According to the report, he was an absconder and a cousin of terrorist Muhammad Qadir.He informed the court that, as per the report from federal agencies, the missing person was not in the custody of any agency.

Justice Ijaz Anwar, addressing the petitioner’s counsel, remarked that both the federal and provincial governments had submitted reports confirming that the person was not in their custody.The petitioner’s counsel requested a copy of the report, stating that they had not yet received it and would review it.
