MINGORA: As temperatures continue to soar across the country, tourists seeking relief from the scorching heat are flocking to the scenic Malam Jabba valley in Swat district, where recent rainfall has turned the weather refreshingly cold.
Chilly winds and misty mountains have brought back a January-like atmosphere to the popular hill station, forcing visitors to don jackets, mufflers, and warm clothing to stay comfortable. The sudden drop in temperature has taken many by surprise, particularly tourists from southern cities like Karachi and Hyderabad.
“We came here to escape the unbearable heat back home, but we didn’t expect this kind of cold in May,” said one tourist while speaking to local media. “The cool breeze, breathtaking mountains, and natural beauty here are beyond words.”
Many visitors praised the facilities provided by Samsons Group, including the famous chairlift that carries tourists up to the mountain’s 9,000-foot summit. From the top, panoramic views of the Swat left many awe-struck.
The cold weather added charm to local delicacies as well, with hot jaggery (gur) tea, crispy fritters (pakoras), and traditional foods delighting visitors and warming their spirits.
Tourists described Malam Jabba as a place of peace, beauty, and serenity. “It feels like time should stop here. We don’t want to leave,” said another visitor. “We’re taking beautiful memories with us, but our hearts remain in Malam Jabba.”
Sending a message to the world, the tourists encouraged both local and international travelers to explore the enchanting landscapes of Swat. “If you want to witness true natural beauty and experience real tranquility, this is the place to be.”
