PESHAWAR: Speakers at the All Pakistan Chambers Presidents Conference have called for economic reforms and streamlining import regulations. This major national conference, organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, brought together presidents of chambers, associations, and prominent business leaders from across the country.
The organisers said the conference aimed to promote economic growth, improve business policies, and strengthen trade cooperation. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa former governor Ghulam Ali and Chairman of All Pakistan Car Dealers and Importers Association) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and President of Peshawar Traders Chamber, Ghulam Bilal Javid, attended the event arranged in the federal capital. Other participants included Sohail Altaf, Group Leader of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Usman Shaukat, President of RCCI, Mian Anjum Nisar, Chairman of the Businessmen Panel, along with presidents and representatives of various chambers and associations from across the country.
Ghulam Ali attended as Patron-in-Chief of the Sarhad Business Alliance. He highlighted the challenges faced by the business community and emphasized the need for economic reforms.The conference was structured into four key sessions. The first session was chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal. The second session was chaired by Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. The third session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. The fourth session was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb. Each session focused on critical topics such as trade facilitation, tariff reforms, private sector engagement, and the national economic strategy.
Ghulam Bilal Javid discussed the importance of the National Tariff Policy, the need to reduce excessive protection for the auto sector, and streamlining import regulations. He advocated for a transparent, supportive, and competitive business environment in Pakistan.
At the conclusion of the event, Ghulam Bilal Javid signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mövenpick Hotel Islamabad, aimed at enhancing cooperation in hosting business events and facilitating trade-related initiatives. This conference served as a platform to promote unity among Pakistan’s business chambers and laid a foundation for collaborative national economic progress.
