The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) convened a pivotal meeting with Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal at the PMA House Karachi on May 24 to address the alarmingly deteriorating health indicators in Pakistan and called for immediate government intervention.

Leading the discussions, Dr Abdul Ghafoor Shoro, secretary general of the PMA Centre, highlighted critical concerns, including the prevalence of preventable diseases and the need for an autonomous Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Medical professionals in attendance underscored the urgent need for reforms.
