302 FJMU students awarded degrees

LAHORE:The seventh convocation of Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) Lahore was held on Thursday in which Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique was the chief guest.

At the beginning of the convocation, a great tribute was paid to the Pakistan government and the armed forces. Principal Prof Abdul Hameed administered the oath to the undergraduate students and Registrar Prof M Nadeem administered the oath to the postgraduate students. A total of 302 students were awarded certificates in the convocation. The students included 288 undergraduate students and 14 postgraduate students. Dr Rabab Pervez was the best graduate of the session 2018-23.

Dr. Rabab Pervez, Dr. Raiha Yasir, Dr. Aliza Omar, Dr. Kainat Batool, Dr. Aniqa Waqar, Dr. Noor Maryam, Dr. Syeda Alina Zahra, Dr. Azkay Izhar and Dr. Maryam Fatima were awarded gold medals for their excellent performance. Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal also presented honorary shields to Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Prof Mahmood Ayaz.

Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof Mahmood Ayaz, Deans Prof Ayesha Malik, Prof Bilqis Shabbir, Prof Alia Zahid, Prof Naveed Akbar Hotiana, Prof Shamila Ejaz Munir, MNA Aamir Gopal, Principal Pakistan Air Force College Maj-Gen (retd) Salman Ali, Prof Sardar Al-Freed Zafar, Prof Ayesha Shaukat, Prof Asghar Naqi, heads of departments, university faculty and a large number of Profs were also present on the occasion.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, in his address said that today is a very happy day for all the attendees.
