QAU appoints experts to boards of studies for ICT colleges

Islamabad : The Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has notified the appointment of experts to boards of studies for various subjects for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) colleges, effective from April 29, 2025, to April 28, 2028.

These appointments, made under Section 4(2)(v)(c) of the First Statutes of the Quaid-i-Azam University Act 1973, aim to enhance the academic standards and research quality in affiliated institutions.

For the discipline of Islamic Studies, Dr. Hafiz Hasan Madni, Associate Professor at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and Dr. Muhammad Arif, Assistant Professor at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, have been appointed as subject experts.

In the field of Mass Communication, Dr. Ayesha Sadaf and Dr. Qurat ul Ain, both Assistant Professors at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, will contribute their expertise.

For Urdu, the appointed experts include Dr. Humaira Ishfaq, Associate Professor at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and Dr. Fouzia Aslam, Chairperson of the Department of Urdu at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad.

The Geography Board of Studies will include Dr. Muhammad Nasarur Minallah, Associate Professor at the Institute of Geography, University of the Punjab, Lahore, and Dr. Omer Riaz, Associate Professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Sargodha. In the domain of Accounting & Finance, Commerce, the board members include Dr. Abdul Wahid, Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Finance, NUML, H-9, Islamabad, and Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad, Associate Professor at the Department of Commerce, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Punjab.

Teachers said the Board of Studies played a critical role in advising on academic matters, including curriculum development, research initiatives, and examinations, ensuring the quality and relevance of education provided to students.

They said the ICT colleges, affiliated with Quaid-i-Azam University, provided quality education to students from Islamabad and across the country, contributing significantly to the national academic landscape.
