KHAR: The broadcasts of Pakhtunkhwa Radio Bajaur FM 91.1 officially resumed after more than a year of silence on Friday.

Following special directives from the Secretary of Information and Public Relations Muhammad Khalid the radio station is once again on-air, delivering reliable information and serving as a crucial link between the government and the public.

Station In-Charge Dr Fitrath Buneri stated that Pakhtunkhwa Radio Bajaur has always played a vital role in countering propaganda and curbing the spread of misinformation. “In times of heightened tensions, such as the ongoing India-Pakistan situation, the role of credible media becomes even more significant, especially when social media is rife with fake and misleading content,” he added.

He said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the station provided timely and accurate updates to the public, helping to dispel rumors and promote public health measures.

With the resumption of broadcasts, the station launched special programming to inform the public about the success of Operation Bunyan-um- Marsoos. Throughout the day, live updates and in-depth analysis were aired, ensuring the community remained well-informed.

In addition to security-related coverage, the radio station has introduced awareness programmes on climate change and produced light-hearted, uplifting content to help ease community stress and anxiety.
