Two brothers charged with father’s murder remanded in police custody
A judicial magistrate on Thursday granted four-day police remand of two brothers arrested for allegedly murdering their father.
Mohammad Ibrahim and Afzal were arrested by the Jauharabad police after they were allegedly caught carrying the body of a man, later identified as their father Khawar Anjum, in a gunny bag on a motorcycle in FB Area on Tuesday night.
The investigating officer produced the suspects before Judicial Magistrate (Central) Muhammad Jameel and sought their physical remand for interrogation. When asked about the motive behind the crime, the IO informed the court that during initial interrogation, the suspects said they killed their father because he had been beating them since childhood.
The magistrate handed over the custody of the suspects to the police on a four-day physical remand. According to the police, the suspects were caught taking the body of their father on a motorcycle to dump it somewhere. An FIR has been lodged under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
