Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Monem Zafar has said Kashmir and the Indus Water Treaty should be on top of the agenda for talks between India and Pakistan.

Addressing the culmination ceremony of an event held under the banner 'Read and Write Campaign' by the party in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, he said the Pakistani forces had crushed Indian arrogance.

He said the Indian premier used to brag about the military might of India and particularly about Rafael planes but the Pakistani warplanes compelled the neighbouring country to ground its squadrons.

Regarding the education campaign, he said the campaign was gaining popularity with each passing day and its scope would be expanded further. He thanked those cooperating with the JI in connection with the educational campaign and said that it was a right step in the right direction.

He said the people in Sindh had been deprived of quality education despite a heavy educational budget of the province. During the 15-day activity, students were being offered free used textbooks of their desired level in exchange for used books of any educational level.
