Punish the aggressor

The unprovoked Indian aggression against Pakistan was a grave violation of international law and a serious threat to regional peace. Although Pakistan gave a heavy retaliation in response, bringing down India’s Rafale jets in a very remarkable and effective manner, the international community remained somewhat indifferent to the illegal nature of India’s actions. These acts should also not be equated with Pakistan’s right to defend itself, as some international voices seemingly did. Now that a ceasefire has been reached, the UN must take firm action and hold the aggressor accountable. Punishing those who start conflicts and delivering justice for those acting in self-defence is the only way to ensure peace.
