Alleged corruption: PPP to stage protest against KP govt on 26th
CHAKDARA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday announced to stage a protest on May 26 against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after accusing it of setting new records in corruption.
The announcement was made at a meeting of the PPP Malakand Division chapter arranged here at the Fishing Hut, chaired by the party’s provincial president, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha.
The meeting was attended by district and tehsil presidents, general secretaries, office-bearers, and representatives of all affiliated wings.Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, former provincial president Najmuddin Khan, Malakand Division President Malik Azmat Khan, Provincial Deputy General Secretary Abrar Saeed, Provincial Vice President Saleem Khan, Ahmed Zaib Khan (Lower Dir president), Naeemullah Khan (Lower Dir general secretary), Ahmed Ali Shah Bacha (Malakand president), Engineer Fazal Rabi (Lower Chitral president), Sher Hussain (Upper Chitral president), Saleem Khan (Lawyers Wing president), and Bacha Hussain (Member Provincial Council) spoke on the occasion.
They alleged that ministers were openly accusing each other of corruption, while the province’s debt had soared from Rs87 billion to Rs1,600 billion.They accused the KP government of pushing the province’s economy into crisis by allegedly institutionalizing corruption. The speakers emphasized unity within the party, vowing to eliminate internal rifts and revive the PPP’s past glory.
They criticized Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, calling him unfit for office and demanding his removal. They alleged that he was more focused on making TikTok videos and inviting a select few to the Governor’s House while ignoring dedicated party workers.
Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha stated that for the past 12 years, the Pakhtuns had been ruled by a corrupt group. He alleged that all MPAs were involved in corruption and that KP ranked among the top provinces in terms of corruption. He urged the public to participate in the PPP protest on May 26The speakers praised the armed forces for successfully responding to the enemy attack, sending a clear message to the world that they were fully prepared to face any challenge.
