Modi not just Indian leader but international terrorist, says CM
A powerful show of unity was witnessed on Wednesday outside the Karachi Press Club, where leaders from various political parties participated in a solidarity rally organised by the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Karachi Division.
The rally was held to condemn the recent Indian aggression, the rise of extremism, and attacks on innocent civilians. The participants also lauded the Pakistan Army’s forceful response to India’s actions.
Addressing the gathering, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just an Indian leader but an international terrorist, whose decision to challenge Pakistan was a grave miscalculation.
“Today all political parties have set aside their ideological and political differences to stand united in support of our armed forces. The message to India is clear — the entire Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its military.”
Shah accused Modi of orchestrating a terrorism drama in Pahalgam on April 22 and placing the blame on Pakistan within 10 minutes of the incident. He reiterated Pakistan’s rejection of terrorism, and reaffirmed its willingness to participate in any international investigation. “But Modi, the Butcher of Gujarat, hurled baseless accusations at Pakistan. Our message to him is loud and clear: if stones are thrown at us, we will retaliate with bricks.”
The CM revealed that India carried out attacks on six locations within Pakistan under the cover of darkness, resulting in the martyrdom of 26 civilians, including women and children. “Our forces responded with full might, destroying five of their fighter jets and a drone, forcing India to wave the white flag,” he said, applauding the military’s swift and decisive action.
Other speakers also echoed strong support for the armed forces, and emphasised national unity. Sindh Local Government Minister and PPP Karachi President Saeed Ghani praised the rare sight of all political parties coming together on a single platform.
“Even the PTI intended to join but was unable to due to a prior commitment,” Ghani said. He noted that Christian and Hindu communities were also present in large numbers to condemn Indian aggression.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Sindh President Niaz Khaskheli said that India’s cowardly attack was met with a crushing response from the Pakistan Army. “Modi thought he could exploit the situation ahead of Indian elections, but he was mistaken. The [Pakistani] nation is united.”
Ali Akbar Gujjar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz termed the gathering a symbolic bouquet of political unity. “This country is our mother, and we will fight anyone who dares cast an evil eye on it.”
Iftikhar Alam of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement said that the solidarity rally sends a strong message to Modi: “The Pakistani nation is now more united than ever. Despite our political differences, we stand united in defence of Pakistan.”
Sindh Assembly member Sham Sundar affirmed the Hindu community’s commitment to Pakistan, calling the country their motherland, and promising to defend it with their lives.
Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Emir Monem Zafar called for a national conference of all political parties to further demonstrate unity to the world. He proposed observing Friday as a Day of Resolve. “The entire Pakistani nation condemns the cowardly attack, and pledges full support to the armed forces.”
Shahi Syed of the Awami National Party concluded by appealing for peace. “If India continues its hostile behaviour, it will only bring suffering to its 1.5 billion people. This nation was created in the name of the Kalima, and will stand forever. When a nation stands united, no force in the world can harm it.”
Pakistani boxers Shaheer Afridi and Usman, who recently defeated their Indian opponents, were also present at the rally, further boosting national pride and morale. PPP Sindh General Secretary Senator Waqar Mehdi also spoke on the occasion.
