FJMU prepared for emergency
LAHORE:In the light of the prevailing circumstances, a meeting was held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University under the Chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, attended by Deans, Head of Departments, and faculty members.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal paid tribute to the Security Forces of Pakistan. He emphasised the nation's solidarity with the Security Forces, stating that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces. He expressed appreciation and confidence in the Security Forces capability to respond effectively to any aggression, highlighting their dedication and preparedness. He assured that the country's security remains unshaken under the protection of its strong Security Forces. Being doctors, he affirmed their readiness to handle any unusual situation that may arise.
The participants of meeting also reaffirmed the nation's conditional solidarity with the Security Forces. The doctors' community expressed unwavering readiness to serve Pakistan, pledging to make any necessary sacrifices in times of need.
Besides, a solidarity rally was organised under the leadership of VC Prof Khalid Masood Gondal and MS Dr Arif Iftikhar, expressing support for the Pakistan Security Forces and condemning India's actions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Lahore City Mr. Babar Ali, MS Dr Arif Iftikhar and faculty members, visited the various departments and wards. The hospital administration was directed to ensure availability of medical equipment, medicines, and blood, and to be prepared for any situation, ensuring uninterrupted medical services to the public. Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal also visited the blood bank, directing staff to keep extra blood bags ready. With over 200 blood bags in stock, the faculty, doctors, and paramedical staff expressed their readiness to make sacrifices, including blood donation.
