Conquerors and Stars win opening round matches in National T20 Tournament
KARACHI: Two matches decided on the opening day of the National Women’s T20 Tournament on Wednesday.
Stars defeated Strikers by 17 runs at the National Bank Stadium. Stars’ 148 runs for 4 wickets were answered by Strikers’ 131 runs for 6 wickets and lost the match by 17 runs.
Stars’ captain Sidra Amin scored 89 runs not out with the help of 14 fours and a six. Strikers’ Iman Fatima scored 52 runs not out with the help of a six and 9 fours.
Toobi Hassan and Neelam Mushtaq took two wickets each for the winning team. Sidra Amin was declared the Player of the Match.
In second match Conquerors defeated Invincibles by 30 runs at the Oval Ground. In response to Conquerors’ 145 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, Invincibles could score 115 runs for 6 wickets.
Conquerors captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 85 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 12 fours. Saima Malik of Invincibles took four wickets. Invincibles captain Muniba Ali scored 50 runs with the help of a six and 5 fours. Fatima Sana was declared the player of the match.
