CM aide says khuli kutcheries against corruption yielding results
PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption said on Tuesday that public forums on anti-corruption were yielding positive results as most of the complaints were addressed on the spot.
Speaking at the monthly Khuli Kutchehry at the Directorate of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), he said that immediate action was being taken on complaints received during these sessions. He said that efforts were underway to curb corruption in the province.
He said that similar Khuli Kutchehries were also organised at regional offices, where the public submitted complaints related to corruption.
Musaddiq Abbasi that the purpose of these public forums was to review the performance of anti-corruption officials, prioritise the resolution of public grievances, and ensure the protection of government resources.
He urged citizens to refrain from offering bribes to government departments for their legitimate work.
During the Kutchehry, he added, held at the ACE Directorate and regional offices, the public raised complaints against various departments, which were heard in detail.
Musaddiq Abbasi said that citizens could register complaints regarding corruption and irregularities via the Anti-Corruption WhatsApp number (0331-9988848) or through the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s online portal, Ikhtiyar-e-Awam Ka.
At the Kutchehry, citizens reported issues such as fake property transfers, tax evasion in transfers, and irregularities in parking contracts, among other departmental concerns.
