2,233 fire incidents occur in KP in four months
PESHAWAR: A total of 2,233 fire incidents were reported throughout the province only during the first four months of the year.
Goods worth millions of rupees were gutted in these incidents.An official of the Rescue 1122 said Peshawar alone accounted for 357 fire incidents, followed by Mardan with 194 and Abbottabad with 156. These three districts combined made up over 30percent of the total fire emergencies in KP in which rescue workers and firefighters of Rescue 1122 responded immediately.
“Other districts with a high number of fire incidents include Swabi (115), Swat (118), and Dera Ismail Khan (106). Lakki Marwat also saw a notable number of incidents with 101 reported cases in which firefighters and rescuers of 1122 responded immediately,” said Bilal Ahmad Faizi, a spokesman for Rescue 1122.Kohistan Lower reported the least, with just one fire emergency, followed by Torghar with 3 and Lower Chitral 6.
