Labourer shot dead, eight people injured in robbery, other incidents
A labourer was killed upon enmity while eight other people were injured in incidents of robbery, resistance to mugging and firing in different areas of the city on Saturday.
A person was killed in a firing incident near a bungalow in Block 2, Khalid Bin Waleed Road, PECHS Society, Ferozabad police remit, and his body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
SHO Inam Junejo said that the deceased was identified as 50-year-old Pir Sahib Khan. Initial investigation revealed that the incident was a result of personal enmity.
The deceased was a labourer and his family belonged to Waziristan. The man was sitting in a rickshaw when two unidentified motorcycle-borne suspects opened fire indiscriminately and fled the scene.
The deceased was hit by seven bullets on different parts of his body. Police summoned the crime scene unit to the scene and collected evidence from the spot, while six shells of 30-bore pistol bullets were recovered and taken into custody, which will be sent to the forensic division. The police are investigating the incident further.
Muhammad Israel 24, was injured during robbery resistance near the Aqsa Mosque in Orangi Town, Gulshan-e-Bahar, Pakistan Bazaar, and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Muhammad Sabir, son of Mushtaq, 35, and Anjum son of Abdul Rashid, 42, were injured during robbery resistance near the Noorani Mosque in Sector 11A, New Karachi.
Nisar, son of Ishaq, 30, was injured in a shooting incident near the Site Area Fire Brigade Office in Site-A. According to the police, the reasons for the shooting could not be immediately ascertained. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Shahbaz, son of Rafiq, 25, was injured in a shooting incident near the Drig Road, Cantt Bazaar, railway track in Shah Faisal area and was shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
The reason for the incident could not be immediately known. According to the police, further legal action will be taken in the light of the statement.
Twenty-one-year-old Sameer, son of Ali Muhammad , was injured in a firing incident during a dispute near Safar Goth area of Gadap City.
Fifteen-year-old Irfan, son of Javed, was injured in a firing incident during a dispute near Hawks Bay in the Mauripur Police remit and was shifted to the Civil Hospital.
SHO Chaudhry Saleem said that Irfan was injured in a firing incident during a dispute over a hut between two parties, and the investigation into the incident is underway.
Thirty-year-old Ali Raza, son of Fida Hussain, was injured in a gunshot from an unknown direction in a house near Noor Din Goth Noor-ur-Rehman Mosque in the Manghopir area and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
