Wasa ordered to prepare for monsoon
LAHORE:A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering, Bilal Yasin, to review the performance of Wasa Punjab. Updates were given regarding the ongoing schemes and set targets in Wasa offices of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
An assessment of the highest recorded rainfall over the past 10 years was presented, and further recommendations were sought to expedite drainage operations. Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin directed all Wasa offices to finalise their preparations before the monsoon season. He emphasised maintaining coordination with district administrations, power distribution companies, and sanitation companies, as well as keeping complaint centres fully operational.
Additionally, Wasa Lahore was instructed to immediately launch a drains desilting campaign. Considering the rising temperatures, Wasa authorities were directed to ensure an increase in water supply timings.
