Malgari Wakeelan, ILF panel wins PHCBA elections

PESHAWAR: The joint panel of Malgari Wakeelan and Insaf Lawyers Forum has secured a sweeping victory in the Peshawar High Court Bar Association elections.

The panel’s joint candidate, Ameenur Rehman Yousafzai, was elected as the president of the association.

Arshad Ali won the post of vice-president, Asad Zeb Khan was elected as joint secretary, Subhanullah became finance secretary, Muhammad Nauman was elected press secretary, and Asad Khan Shehzada Yousafzai secured the position of library secretary.

The Grand Alliance candidate Ashfaq Daudzai won the post of general secretary.

The elections were held under the supervision of Election Commissioner Fazal Elahi Khan. Polling took place simultaneously in Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Swabi, and Takht Bhai.

For the post of president, Ameenur Rehman Yousafzai won with 1,456 votes, defeating Grand Alliance’s Yasir Khattak, who secured 1,258 votes.

Arshad Ali was elected vice president with 1,572 votes, while his opponent Mukhtar Ahmad received 1,052 votes. Ashfaq Daudzai of the Grand Alliance won the general secretary position with 1,367 votes, defeating Alam Khan, who got 987 votes.
