Admirable legacy

This letter refers to the editorial ‘Pope of the people’ (April 22, 2025). As the title suggests, the late Pope Francis was a strong voice for global peace. He also made history in July of 2022, when he visited Canada and acknowledged and apologised for the Catholic Church’s involvement in the oppression of Native American communities.
His message struck a deep chord with the survivors, the affected and their families, kindling discussions on justice and reconciliation. His stance in support of the people of Palestine was also notable. Hopefully his legacy will continue with next pope.
