WASHINGTON: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb met Managing Director, IMF, Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the WB/IMF Spring Meetings 2025, here on Monday.
Aurangzeb thanked her team for the Staff-Level Agreement on the First Review under the Extended Fund Facility and a new arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility. He assured full support of the Government of Pakistan to stay the course on reforms. He also reiterated the PM’s invitation to the IMF MD, Kristalina Georgieva, to visit the country.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb also met Robert Kaproth, Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Treasury on the sidelines of the WB/IMF Spring Meetings 2025, Washington DC.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister briefed him on the macroeconomic indicators of the country. He highlighted the reforms being undertaken in the areas of taxation, energy, privatization, SOEs, pensions and debt management.
The minister also underlined the importance of Country Partnership Framework (CPF) of World Bank in dealing with existential challenges facing the country including population and climate.
