LAHORE:The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) continued its cultural outreach initiative by hosting ambassadors from 10 countries on the second day of their official visit here on Sunday.
As part of a carefully curated itinerary, the ambassadors visited some of Lahore’s most iconic cultural and heritage sites. The group toured the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore Museum, Tollinton Market, and Wazir Khan Baradari. These visits offered an opportunity to experience Lahore's architectural grandeur and the rich artistic traditions that are integral to the City’s identity. Ambassadors from countries, including Korea, Myanmar, Nepal, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, and representatives from the Sri Lankan High Commission were part of the delegation.
The objective of this visit was to showcase Lahore’s architectural heritage, highlight ongoing conservation efforts, and project a positive and soft image of Pakistan to the international community.
Later in the day, the delegation visited the majestic Badshahi Masjid and the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, where they paid their respects to the Poet of the East. These visits offered a profound insight into the country’s cultural, spiritual, and intellectual legacy.
The day concluded with an enchanting evening at Lahore Fort, where traditional music and cultural performances were arranged by WCLA. The event offered an immersive experience of Pakistan’s vibrant cultural landscape, leaving a lasting impression on the visitors.
The Director General of WCLA Kamran Lashari, welcomed the ambassadors and appreciated their participation. He emphasised the Authority’s commitment to preserving Lahore’s historic assets and promoting the City as a global cultural heritage destination. This visit forms part of WCLA’s broader mission to engage the international community, encourage cultural diplomacy, and strengthen heritage tourism in Pakistan.
