Dist admin, traders discuss Circular Garden issue

LAHORE : A meeting between the district administration and representatives of traders of Circular Road over the issue of restoration of Circular Garden was held here on Saturday.

The meeting was chaired by Lahore Commissioner while Deputy Commissioner and DG Walled City Authority Lahore Kamran Lashari with representative of traders of Circular Garden attended.

The other notable representatives present in the meeting included Chairman Khawaja Imran, President Adil Mir, Senior Vice President Khawaja Adnan Shehzad, Vice President Haji Shehzad Rafiq, General Secretary Shehzad Khan, President, Lahore Chamber of Small Traders Amjad Chaudhry and former President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce Sohail Lashari.

The main agenda of the discussion was the restoration of Circular Garden and finding effective solutions to the affected businesses. All attendees shared their views and emphasised the need for practical resolutions to the ongoing business concerns.

The district administration and the Walled City of Lahore Authority assured the traders that the Punjab government’s policy does not intend to displace traders or disrupt businesses. Instead, the objective was to find practical and improved alternative solutions.

Several proposals were discussed during the meeting, and it was mutually agreed that the revitalisation of Lahore’s heritage and commercial activity will be carried out in full consensus with the trader community.
