MANSEHRA: The police department has beefed up security of local courts to cope with any untoward situation. The development came after District and Sessions Judge Sadia Arshad and District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur visited the local courts and reviewed the security arrangements put in place.

They assessed the security of the judges and courtrooms. It was the first time that both the district and session judge and the district police officer personally inspected the security arrangements. They instructed the security guards and constables to remain vigilant on duty and to ensure that no one was allowed to enter the premises without a thorough body check.

Gandapur directed police personnel to keep a strict watch on the movement of any suspicious people within the court premises.“We want to ensure foolproof security for judges and litigants coming to the courts to pursue their cases. You must ensure that no suspect is able to sneak into the courts,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police department conducted a mock security drill to reinforce existing arrangements for the safety of Chinese nationals working on the Balakot Hydropower Project in Paras area of the tehsil.

These exercises, carried out by police and elite force personnel, were held at Chinese residential camps and project sites in Paras and its adjoining areas.A press release stated that the drills were conducted on the directives of DIG Hazara and the DPO to ensure a prompt response in the event of any emergency.
