UET to launch 14 new academic programmes
LAHORE:The 236th meeting of the Academic Council of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held here on Thursday which approved the launch of 14 new academic programmes at the BS and PhD levels to expand the university’s academic offerings.
Presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Munir, the meeting was attended by deans of all faculties, the registrar, and heads of all academic and administrative departments. Among the newly-approved programmes were BS Islamic Studies in Computer Technology and BS English Language and Literature, proposed by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Islamic Studies. The council also approved the establishment of the Department of Mathematics and the launch of the BS Mathematics programme at the UET Faisalabad Campus. Furthermore, approvals were granted for PhD programmes in Data Science, Environmental Science, and Physical Therapy.
The meeting also approved BS programmes in Business Data Analytics, Food Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Human Nutrition, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering. MSc programmes in Climate Change, Material Science, and Chemical Engineering were also approved.
