PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief of Minister for Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Saif has criticized the Sharif family’s recent visit to Belarus, calling it a pleasure trip funded by public money.
In a statement, he stated, “Three generations of the Sharif family are busy vacationing at the expense of the national exchequer, and the Belarus visit served no benefit to the nation.” Barrister Saif remarked, “The Sharif family is completely detached from the pain and struggles of the people.
While the public is being crushed under inflation, the ruling family is engaged in foreign leisure trips.” He added that former prime minister Imran Khan never took his family abroad on government funds, “This is the difference between leadership and monarchy,” he added.
He further questioned the purpose and outcome of the Belarus visit, demanding transparency. “The Sharif family must explain what benefit this trip brought to the country. How and why is taxpayers’ money being spent on such excursions?”
The advisor also pointed out that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif tends to remember only Punjab during his foreign visits, consistently overlooking the chief ministers of the other three provinces. “This selective approach is unethical,” he stated.Barrister Saif demanded that the Sharif family must disclose the details of all foreign trips taken at public expense and provide a full account of the expenditures involved.
