Minister promises support to expats
Islamabad:Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar on Monday reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to connecting with and supporting the global Pakistani community.
She said this during a visit to the Overseas Pakistanis Convention at Jinnah Convention Centre here. The minister took a keen interest in the stalls relevant to education and professional training and said the ministry would actively engage with the global Pakistani diaspora, aiming to strengthen ties, address their concerns and provide consistent support in matters related to employment, legal rights and integration.
The minister said the government recognised overseas Pakistanis as vital contributors to the nation's economy and international image and would continue striving to address their issues. The two-day event has brought together more than 1,500 participants from over 80 countries, according to organisers.
They said the convention was aimed at acknowledging the significant contributions of overseas Pakistanis to the national development and building lasting connections between them and the homeland through collaborations in various sectors.
