Mystery of missing newborn solved
The South Range police and the Women Protection Cell (WPC) have solved a missing newborn baby’s case lodged at the Arambagh police station.
Officials said a joint operation by the WPC and Arambagh police was carried after the registration of case. The baby was recovered after it came to light that a fake claim had been made about the baby boy’s death by his mother.
Action was taken on a request of the newborn's grandmother, who said her other family members were giving false statements about her grandson. The newborn's mother, aunt and brother-in-law were found to be involved.
Investigation revealed that upon the birth of the baby, the mother falsely announced that her baby was born dead. It was further revealed that mother Nimra's brother-in-law Junaid made a fake death certificate and cemetery receipt.
The police investigation showed that the mother staged the false drama with the help of her brother-in-law. Afterwards the baby was handed over to his aunt and Nimra admitted her mistake after the inquiry was completed. The police recorded the matters between the two families in writing and played their role in amicably reconciling the two families.
