Husband, accomplice arrested over murdering wife
LAHORE : A 30-year-old woman was brutally murdered in the Ghaziabad area, allegedly over a domestic dispute.
The victim was identified as Nasira, wife of Naveed. Police have arrested two key suspects, including the victim’s husband Naveed and an accomplice Saifullah and launched a manhunt for another woman named Rehana believed to be involved.
The murder reportedly took place following an ongoing domestic dispute. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team along with forensic experts reached the crime scene. Evidence was collected from the location to aid in the investigation.
The body of the deceased was recovered and shifted to the local morgue for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the three accused on the complaint of Abdul Hameed, the brother of the deceased. He alleged that his sister had been facing consistent domestic abuse and threats prior to the fatal attack.
Fire breaks out in LPG shop, man injured
A man sustained injuries following a fire that broke out in an LPG refilling shop at Ghazi Chowk in the Punjab Society area on Saturday.
Firefighters were immediately alerted and rushed to the scene. Rescue teams managed to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to adjacent shops.
The injured individual, whose identity remains unknown at the time of reporting, was recovered from the shop and promptly shifted to a nearby hospital. According to rescue sources, the man had sustained burn injuries but was reported to be in stable condition.
3,099 drug pushers arrested this year
Lahore Police have intensified intelligence-based operations to combat drug trafficking as part of efforts to make the city drug-free.
This year, 3,099 suspects have been arrested and 3,036 cases registered across various police divisions. The crackdown led to the seizure of 2,157 kg of hashish, 207 kg of opium, 184 kg of crystal meth, 127 kg of heroin, and over 18,000 litres of liquor.
Division-wise arrests include 574 in City, 693 in Cantonment, 330 in Civil Lines, 487 in Saddar, 427 in Iqbal Town, and 588 in Model Town.
