Maulana Abdul Khabir, Shafay discuss steps to check terrorism
LAHORE: Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad called on Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Chaudhry Shafay Hussain in his office.
During the meeting, the law and order situation, affairs of the Auqaf Department and the role of scholars in promoting the spirit of tolerance and brotherhood were discussed. Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that the country is facing a situation of law and order and terrorism. The Pakistan Army, security agencies and every section of the society have made sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
Shafay Hussain said that Islam is a religion of peace, there is no room for terrorism in Islam. Only through the power of unity, enemies of humanity can be defeated. The minister said that the entire nation should unite to foil the evil designs of the enemies of peace. Ulema and scholars should play their effective role in promoting the feelings of brotherhood and tolerance. Every individual in the society should do their part to extinguish the fire of unrest. Shafay Hussain said that work is under way rapidly on schemes for the renovation of mosques and shrines across the province.
The affairs of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department will be improved with the consultation and guidance of scholars, Mashaikh and religious scholars. Abdul Khabir Azad, the Khateeb Badshahi Masjid, said that the services of former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for the progress and development of the country are commendable. He has long-standing relations with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and he has always promoted tolerance. Abdul Khabir Azad said that under the leadership of Shafay Hussain, the affairs of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department will be improved.
