6,718 accused arrested during the year
Rawalpindi: During the year, 6,718 accused persons in different cases have been arrested, City Police Officer (CPO) spokesman Sajjad Shah told ‘The News’ here on Monday.
As many as 220 dangerous criminals of 102 gangs involved in street crime have been arrested and gangs smashed. 11 vehicles 185 motorcycles valuing more than 50 million have been recovered, In addition articles including ornaments and other valuables have also been recovered.
597 drug peddlers arrested, 401 kg charas, 4.65 kg Ice, 5 kg heroin and 7082 litre liquor recovered. 437 persons arrested with illegal weapons recovering 19 kalashnikov, 347 pistols, 24 rifles and ammunition 549 proclaimed offenders of category A and B have also been arrested. 59 proclaimed offenders of category A and 490 of category B have been arrested.
