Pasteurisation law
The issue of milk adulteration in Pakistan has become a serious concern. Milk, a basic
necessity, is now sold in adulterated and chemically contaminated forms. Open milk is often mixed with water, urea, detergents, and other harmful chemicals, posing a significant risk to public health. The packaged milk available in the market also often lacks proper quality checks and some brands sell substandard milk.
Unfortunately, there is no effective nationwide law to regulate this matter. Many countries have already implemented pasteurisation laws to ensure safe milk for their citizens. A minimum pasteurisation law should be introduced at the national level to prevent the sale of unsafe dairy products and protect public health. I urge the government to act swiftly and guarantee the availability of pure and safe milk for all.
