Artistes given Eid gifts and awards
PESHAWAR: An Iftar party was arranged for artistes and musicians here on Sunday.Over 100 artistes, both locals and Afghans, participated in the Iftar party arranged under the auspices of Hunari Tolana, a welfare society for the artistes and musicians situated at the Khyber Super Market, Peshawar Cantt, Saddar. Pashto ghazal maestro, Khayal Mohammad, was the chief guest while Ustad Ahmad Gul and Ustad Sanam Gul were the guests of honour.
Dr Rashid Khan, president of the artistes welfare society, on the occasion said his organisation arranged a free Iftar meal for the artistes to provide them an opportunity to sit together and share their feelings and thoughts about life and other issues confronted by the community.He said the main objective of the event was to honour both local and Afghan artistes residing in the city.
