Official suspended over poor performance
LAHORE:The Home Department has suspended Probation Officer Chakwal, Ali Nawaz, over negligence, incompetence, and mismanagement in duty.
According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, Ali Nawaz was found guilty of inefficiency and failure to fulfill his responsibilities. Consequently, Probation Officer Rawalpindi, Umar Bakhtiar, has been assigned additional charge of Chakwal. The spokesperson further emphasised that Probation and Parole Officers play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and counselling of offenders. To ensure efficiency, the department has established clear guidelines for duty performance. Following the directives of Punjab Home Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, inspection teams are visiting across various districts.
The suspension order was issued after Additional Secretary (Prisons) Asim Raza submitted a report highlighting mismanagement and negligence in Chakwal. The Home Department has directed the suspended officer to report to headquarters immediately.
