LAHORE:Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider on Thursday hosted an Iftar dinner in honour of children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and the journalist community here at Governor House.
The governor shook hands with the children and inquired about their well-being. The children were very happy to have the governor among them. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia were his guests who were more than ministers and advisers to him. He said that it was a great honour for him to sit and have Iftar with these children and he considered himself lucky that Allah Almighty gave him the opportunity to serve children suffering from this deadly disease.
He said that welfare organisations like Sundas Foundation, which are serving humanity, should be encouraged at all levels. He said that the children suffering from thalassemia are in dire need of blood during the month of Ramazan. He appealed to the young generation to donate as much blood as possible during this month. The governor said that as long as he was present in the governor, the doors of the Governor House
were open to the public. He added that the PPP has always struggled for the independence and rule of law of institutions.
