Iran deal 2.0
By News Desk

US President Donald Trump has reportedly sent a letter to Iran setting a two-month deadline for a new nuclear deal. But it was he who withdrew from the initial nuclear deal with Iran, signed under the Barack Obama presidency, during his first term and then put maximum pressure on Iran. This has turned out to be a huge own-goal. Trump's offer seems to be an admission of a mistake on Washington's part. But, having already been betrayed once, Iran is naturally more doubtful. Initial reactions from Iran are not encouraging, being a close ally of China and its involvement in the Ukraine war means it's now in the China Russia camp.
