ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday granted a two-day physical remand of 25 students to the police. The students were arrested for attempting to travel to the United Kingdom using fake visas. During the court hearing, the students were presented, and the prosecution requested their physical remand for further investigation.
The students are accused of passport tampering and attempting to illegally settle in the UK. Defence attorneys argued that their clients are innocent and that the FIA should focus on apprehending the actual agents responsible. However, the investigating officer asserted that the students were innocent and they did not know what a ‘game’ was going on. The officer argued that the students were not naïve and were fully aware of their actions.
After hearing the arguments, the court approved a two-day physical remand for investigation. The accused will be presented in court on March 21.
